J.J. Abrams, Alfonso Cuarón e Chris Pine, em conjunto com a presidente da Academia, anunciaram há momentos os nomeados à 87ª Edição dos Prémios da Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas, em Los Angeles.
Os filmes mais nomeados aos Oscars deste ano são o Birdman e o The Grand Budapest Hotel, cada um com nove nomeações cada, incluindo realização, argumento e de melhor filme. Logo atrás ficou The Imitation Game que conseguiu arrecadar oito indicações. Boyhood, um dos grandes favoritos, ficou-se pelas 6 nomeações, não falhando no entanto as categorias principais como de atores, realização, argumento e filme. The Theory of Everything, outro grande favorito desta Award Season ficou-se pelas 5 nomeações.
