Vencedores VMAs 2020: Lady Gaga é a mais premiada de sempre pela MTV

Depois de ser a vencedora da noite nos VMA, Lady Gaga é agora a artista que mais venceu em premiações do canal norte-americano

A cerimónia anual dos Video Music Awards – ou VMAs – ocorreu este domingo (30) nos Estados Unidos. Lady Gaga foi a grande vencedora da noite e bateu um novo recorde ao tornar-se a artista mais premiada de sempre das cerimónias do canal.

Num ano diferente de todos os outros, a premiação de 2020 contou com grandes mudanças em relação às edições anteriores. Com público limitado e vários fãs a estarem presentes através de videoconferência, a mais recente edição dos VMAs ficou marcada pelo regresso de Lady Gaga ao grande palco após sete anos afastada do grande palco da MTV, apresentando um medley de canções do seu novo álbum – Chromatica – mas também uma atuação em conjunto com Ariana Grande; as atuações de Miley Cyrus e de The Weeknd, entre muitas outras.

Realizada em Nova Iorque, a cerimónia dos VMAs contou com a apresentação de Keke Palmer e ficou marcada nos livros devido ao novo recorde de Lady Gaga. A cantora de Bad Romance venceu cinco prémios, contabilizando um total de 18 vitórias nos VMAs, apenas atrás de Madonna – com 20 – e de Beyoncé, com 24, desde que iniciou a sua carreira a solo em 2003.

O recorde Gaga ganha outras proporções quando se adiciona todas as vitórias conseguidas em premiações organizadas pela MTV, como os Europe Music Awards (EMA) – entre outros. No total, Lady Gaga já conta com 67 vitórias, tornando-se a artista mais premiada da história do canal, com apenas 35 anos e 12 anos de carreira.

Este ano os VMAs criaram ainda duas novas categorias, inspiradas pela pandemia: Melhor Videoclipe Caseiro e Melhor Atuação da Quarentena. As categorias foram vencidas por Stuck with U, de Ariana Grande e Justin Bieber, e por Unplugged at Home, dos CNCO.
