No final da semana passada teve lugar na Califórnia a cerimónia de entrega do que pode ser considerado como os Óscares dos videojogos, a The Game Awards.
Com muitas caras conhecidas, de criadores a atores ou músicos, Geoff Keighley, o criador da The Game Awards, apresentou uma cerimónia com muitos momentos de interesse, não só na atribuição dos galardões mas também em casos como a emocionante homenagem ao falecido presidente da Nintendo Satoru Iwata, o notório discurso do jornalista Greg Miller ou a crítica veemente a uma das mais clássicas empresas de videojogos, a Konami, por aparentemente não ter permitido que um dos seus ex-criadores, o já mítico Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid, Zone Of The Enders, Snatcher), comparecesse à cerimónia por se encontrar em litígio com o mesmo.
O vencedor da noite foi o RPG de fantasia medieval dos polacos da CD Projekt Red, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt que levou para casa 3 estatuetas, incluindo a de melhor jogo do ano.
Além dos prémios e das performances musicais de Ben Harper, Chuvches e Deadmau5, houve ainda espaço a vários trailers e revelações de novos títulos a saírem no futuro.
